# Polkadot Live > Decentralised Polkadot notifications and chain interactions. ## Docs - [Disclaimer](/disclaimer): These Terms of Use apply to the Polkadot Live application as well as any other affiliated sites, digital services, or applications on which a link to these Terms of Use appears (collectively, the “Application“) and apply to all visitors. - [Gallery](/gallery): This page showcases important sections of the application across dark and light themes, giving a visual overview of the Polkadot Live interface. - [Installation](/installation): The Polkadot Live installer is available for download from either the official **landing page** or the **GitHub releases page** for macOS, Windows and Linux platforms. - [Report an issue](/issues): Polkadot Live is in active development, and your feedback helps shape its future. - [Overview](/overview): **Polkadot Live** is a cross-platform desktop application designed to bring decentralized notifications and seamless chain interaction to your desktop. Funded by the Polkadot OpenGov treasury, Polkadot Live supports a wide range of use cases across Polkadot and Substrate-based networks—from monitoring on-chain activity to signing and submitting extrinsics. - [Privacy policy](/privacy): Last Updated: 16th September 2025 - [Extrinsics](/reference/extrinsics): Sends an amount of native tokens from one account to another on the same network. Uses balances.transferKeepAlive under the hood to ensure the sender's account remains above the existential deposit. - [Settings](/reference/settings): This setting controls whether the main window is fixed or free-floating. - [Subscriptions](/reference/subscriptions): Polkadot Live's subscription system provides flexible, customizable ways to stay informed about on-chain activity across multiple networks and accounts. Subscriptions allow users to monitor events ranging from account balances and staking activity to governance referenda and nomination pool updates. - [Automatic Subscriptions](/reference/subscriptions/automatic): Automatic subscriptions provide real-time notifications whenever tracked on-chain data changes. These subscriptions are ideal for monitoring events that require immediate awareness, such as account balance updates, staking activity, nomination pool changes, or live chain data. - [Chain Event Subscriptions](/reference/subscriptions/chain): Polkadot Live allows users to subscribe to real-time events occurring on-chain across multiple networks and accounts. These chain event subscriptions provide granular, immediate notifications whenever a specific event happens, whether globally across the entire network, scoped to a particular account, or linked to an individual OpenGov referendum. - [Interval Subscriptions](/reference/subscriptions/interval): Interval subscriptions provide periodic updates for on-chain data, delivering notifications at configurable intervals rather than in real time. These subscriptions are ideal for tracking slower-moving metrics where immediate updates are not required, such as governance referenda or other time-sensitive, but non-instantaneous events. - [Accounts](/overview/accounts): Polkadot Live supports several methods for importing accounts, giving you flexibility based on your preferred tools and level of control. It's an ideal tool for managing multiple accounts across **separate hardware devices**, with built-in support for **Ledger hardware wallets**, the **Polkadot Vault** app, and wallets using the **WalletConnect** protocol. You can also import an account by simply **pasting an address**. The first three options provide full control over the account, including the ability to **sign extrinsics** (transactions). Pasting an address, however, imports it as **read-only**. - [Notifications](/overview/notifications): Polkadot Live provides a flexible, subscription-based notification system for monitoring on-chain activity across accounts, governance, staking, and the wider network. Notifications are delivered as structured event items within the app and, optionally, as native OS notifications. Events often include contextual links to external tools such as **Subscan**, **OpenGov portals**, or the **Staking Dashboard**, allowing for deeper inspection when needed. - [Transactions](/overview/transactions): Polkadot Live provides a streamlined and elegant way to submit extrinsics (transactions) to supported Substrate-based networks. This functionality is designed to be fast, non-intrusive, and integrated smoothly. Currently, submitting extrinsics is fully supported for accounts imported via Ledger hardware wallets, wallets supporting the WalletConnect protocol, and the Polkadot Vault application.
